What causes shelter animals? Lots of animals go into shelters because the owners don't want them, the animals run away from their homes, and the owners can't take care of them. Disasters like 9/11, many animals were affected and got away from their owners. Also, sometimes the owners can be allergic to the animals so they can't take care of the animals. Even if the animal is sick, they sometimes go into shelters. Lack of training, moving, or even too many animals in the home can be causes to animals in shelters.

Speaking up about animals cruelty can help the animals. If you know someone is treating their animal bad and cruel, then you should try to turn them in. Organizations create fundraisers to raise money for the animals food and a home. ASPCA is an organization that helps prevent animal cruelty in the United States.
